Myrtle Beach South Carolina Raccoon Control Situation: I have raccoons in my Myrtle Beach home. They haven't gotten their way into the attic. They are basically climb up the chimney and get into the lower soffit area right where the angled piece of the chimney meets the soffit. I was thinking about taking a rake (to keep my distance) and pull a bit on the Plastic Channel that holds the soffit up to have the soffit fall. I guess the mother will be in there all day. What are the odds that when she falls out of the soffit that she will run away and not toward a dopey guy holding a rake? Putting the Soffit back together is easy and I want to see if any 'real' damage was done anyway before closing up the few pieces that the Coons knocked off already. I'd go with the Have-a heart trap but I still wont know that I trapped the right Coon, I'd hate to get up by the Soffit and get a nasty howling Racoon in my face. - Tony
I have a raccoon that has chewed holes in our screen porch and ate the dog and cat food on the porch. He has been coming out during the day for the last two weeks looking for food. Yesterday evening, he came out and my two chihuahuas on the porch started barking and for the first time he climbed up a pine tree up against the house and got on the roof and walked to the area above the screened in porch. This guy would be easy to catch, he is a hungry little thing. I don't know when he sleeps, but I always see him in the yard during the day now. What are your hours of operation, and how much would something like this cost? I'm glad to hear you do not hurt the animal because this guy is really cute! Thanks!
