Jersey City New Jersey Raccoon Control Situation: Hi David: I could not find the list from your website to help us get rid of racoon (I think) not likely possum. THey are deficating nightly at the back of our house Plenty of seeds to tell me they have discovered the bird feeders which hang from a tree limb. They have also taken up residence in our barn which has a "cat door". Tonight we are going to board up the cat doors and put out sunflower seeds to see if they are still in the barn. If they are in the barn, what shoujld we do next? And if they are not in the barn, what should we do next? We've had opossums from time to time around but the neighbor picks them up and drives them down the road about 10 miles. I really think these are raccoons. Appreciate any advice. Thanks Jim

David - I read your article and it has helped me greatly. I have Raccoon problems at my home (outside) and I have been reading everything I can about what specific trap is the best. It seems like there are problems with all of them. Can you tell me what trap is the best to trap Raccoons? I need to get one asap but I am very confuded as to what is the best one.We do not live in a wooded area but are out of the city. What looked like a young raccoon came into the yard. It appeared to be calm and my son got within six feet or closer and it didn't run at first. He made some noise and then it ran off. Do you think it was sick or rabid?
