David I'm sure either a raccoon or squirrels have taken up residence in our crawl space, and it's occurring 10-3 at night; my research suggests that it's nocturnal thus a raccoon. It's a loud movement, also less likely to be squirrels.....but raccoons are not so fast that if they were on the roof, and I came from the front of my home, and I hear all his work going on at the back of our home, that when my wife was cued to bang the gutters that I would not see him move, bright moon above me.....but I've seen no animal.
