I recommend Yager Nuisance Animal Removal for raccoon removal and wildlife removal in the Long Island area. Yager Wildlife, Hi, I found your e-mail link on a website about raccoons, and I'm assuming that you know alot about raising raccoons. My husband and I found a baby raccoon the other day and brought it into our home to raise but I have some questions about how to raise him. I need to know how you can tell a boy from a girl? what is the easiest way to tame him? what is the best diet for him? Is Pedialyte really good for him when hes dehydrated? should we give him some kind of vitamins? Is there anything you cant or shouldn't feed him? any requirement other than a rabies shot to keep him? I am really hoping you can help me or know someone who can. Thank You for your time. Thank You, Michelle

My response: Michelle - I do not know anything about raising baby raccoons, nor do I advocate keeping one as a pet. Some people have managed to do so successfully, but many others have had bad problems - they are docile as babies, but become wild in temperament at about 6 months of age. - David

Last night it seemed as if someone was moving around in my attic...quite scary...just in time for holloween. In any event I went out on my deck in the dark to see if some animal was walking on the roof when from behind me something swished by ..an animal...and headed towards the stairway. The stream of light from my next door neighbor showed me that it was a RACOON. It stopped...looked and me...and scurried across the lawn and away into the backyard bushes. This morning I went up into the attic but I didn't see anything. What do I do to keep this racoon away from my attic if he or she hasn't moved in already. It was as big as a dog and quite frightening in the dark. Please let me know........Thank you........Sincerely, Peggy

Hi Yager Wildlife – I live in Bohemia, Long Island, and was wondering what your rates were for removing a raccoon and installing a chimney cap. If I am outside of your service area, could you please suggest a company/person that could possibly help? Thank you so much. After catching Raccoons, I am having a problem with getting Raccoons not entering my trap. I have been using marshmallows as bait as I don't want to catch neighbor cats. Any suggestion you may offer would be appreciated.

Please be kind to raccoons! They are intelligent animals, and believe it or not, they definitely have emotions!
