Rochester New York Raccoon Control Situation: Hi David, Here's the story... I am currently visiting my aunt at her house in Rochester New York. When we arrived we noticed that one of the bathrooms smelled really bad (like something was dying) and my aunt said it was because of something in the air conditioner. She later went on to tell us that she had multiple people look in the attic for the source but they were unable to find anything. Until today... my cousin called an animal control guy and he went up there and called me up to show me the two baby raccoons sitting on top of the insulation in the corner. He removed the two baby raccoons that he said were about 2 months old and left a cage in the attic for the mother and other baby raccoon that he couldn't catch. He concluded that the smell in the bathroom was coming from the raccoons "bathroom area" which is conveniently located in the air duck above the bathroom. After reading about the parasites associated with raccoon feces I have become increasingly nervous that i have been inhaling the airborne parasites while being exposed to the oder in that particular bathroom. Should I tape off the bathroom and make sure that no one uses it or is it too far fetched that the parasites could reach the bathroom? Thanks for your help and after reading your website i kind of wish that the man would've left the two baby raccoons and just let the mom relocate them by shinning a light and putting a radio on - because currently i am listening to the lumping of the mother probably trying to look for her other babies :( - what do you think she will do? Leave or keep looking? - Allison
