Wilmington Delaware Raccoon Control Situation: Good morning David, I am delighted to have found your website! We live in Wilmington DE and have one remaining resident raccoon. She did have a litter in the spring and we were able to remove the babies but not until they were older. (September timeframe). There is one large adult remaining. I have set a live trap using sardines as bait but no luck to date. We have snow here but I do not see any tracks where she is coming in or out but we certainly hear her scratching above the drywall in the cathedral ceilings in our bedroom. I am afraid she will fall through the ceiling or if we open it up, she wick scurry to another place in the ceiling. I did hire a company in the summer which served to mesh off the entry ways but they simply tore down another section of fascia which still remains open. Any suggestions as to how to safely move our resident raccoon? Many thanks for your help. Regards, Dawn
My response: You've got to find out how they are getting in, remove them via trapping or exclusion, and seal the openings up afterward. Have you considered hiring a professional wildlife company?

Hi David, I saw 3 racoons crawl out around a storm drain last night, my neighbor told me he's seen them for a little while now in that location. I'm scared because i have small dogs and i let them out after i get home from work, usually around 10-11 at night. I'm don't think the racoons are getting into my yard, but would like to be on the safe side. Is there a way to trap or remove the racoons that seem to roam the neighborhood? Thanks
